Indian Style Macaroni

Macaroni masala is macaroni made with Indian masalas. In other words we may say ‘Desi Tadke Wala Macaroni’.  My son likes this version more than the other versions of macaroni and I love making this for him.

Ingredients :-
  • 2 cups macaroni
  •  2 tbsp oil
  • 2 onions (ground)
  • 2 green chillies (ground)
  • 2 tomatoes (ground)
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 rsp red chilli pdr
  • 1½ tsp coriander pdr
  • ¼  tsp cumin pdr
  • salt to taste
  • few coriander leaves (for garnishing)
Method:-
  • Heat oil in a wok and add onion and  green chilli paste.
  • When onion turns light brownish in colour, add ginger-garlic paste, red chilli pdr, coriander pdr and salt.
  • Stir continuously for 2 minutes
  • Add in tomato paste  and mix well.
  • Cook on slow flame till oil separates.
  • Add macaroni and water as per instructions on the packet.
  • Cook till water evaporates and macaroni is done.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
Notes:-
  • You may add chopped vegetables at the time of adding ginger-garlic paste.
  • You may use grated cheese instead of coriander leaves for garnishing.
  • Adjust the spices according to taste and preference.
Happy Cooking!!

    1. This recipe is really a saviour when you are short of time.... Sometimes I do make this in a pressure cooker when I'm in a hurry. After adding Macaroni and water, I pressure cook it just a little before it whistles... Thanks a lot Pavithra :-)
